Kyungsoo loves music and he loves anime. He loves SHINee and he loves Kuroko no Basket. He loves dramas and he loves movies. He loves ‘It’s Okay, It’s Love’ and he loves ‘Cart’. The cutie young actor is forever his idol.

He is a nerd, people say. He is weird, people think. He is socially awkward, people remark.

Kyungsoo admits them all.

He locks himself in his house, watching animes in continuous. He downloads the latest dramas’ episode and watches it with the light off, comforter around his head to make it feels like in a theater. He waits for the free English subbed of the latest movie and whined when no one provides it.

Kyungsoo worships K-Pop. He worships the company so much. He loves SHINee as much as he loves Pororo. He loves Taemin and he loves that abs. He worships Kuroko no basket and he loves Aomine Daiki for the character’s tanned skin. Damn, that guy is hot.

He loves sport animes. His first and forever favorite is Prince of Tennis. But now Kuroko no Basket takes over his mind. And that swimming anime Free!, Kyungsoo loves Makoto. He tries watching the new tennis anime, but Baby Steps could never beat Prince of Tennis.

Kyungsoo surfs around the internet, thinking of buying that action figure of Aomine Daiki with that Touou uniform. The online shop is selling so much things and Kyungsoo worships the owner. Everything he loves is there!

The first buy from the shop is that action figure. Kyungsoo taps his fingers impatiently on the kitchen counter, counting the day because he has already paid two days ago. He is impatient; he needs to touch his Aomine!

The door is knocked and Kyungsoo leaps out of his seat. He barely hears the greeting from the delivery boy and Kyungsoo smiles widely. His Aomine is arrived! The delivery boy blinks and mutters ‘package delivery for Do Kyungsoo’ while handing him the box, asking him to also sign on the paper.

Kyungsoo quickly mutters a ‘thank you’ before closing the door on the delivery boy’s face, completely oblivious to the gaping face.

Aomine Daiki is here! Kyungsoo loves him so much!

The second buy is for SHINee’s Everybody mini-album. That dance move is epic and extremely amazing! Kyungsoo screams his life out when he watches the music video teaser, clutching onto the pillow, because, God, Jonghyun is hot! Taemin, I’m sorry, but you are so cute!

Kyungsoo barely catches the sight of the delivery boy before signing the paper and grabs the box of album. His Everybody mini-album has arrived! The poster is fresh and big and Kyungsoo sighs dreamily when it is taped to the wall in front of his bed.

The third buy is when he desperately wants to have that Makoto pillow because he needs to hug him when he sleeps. Everyone on the internet is talking about it and Kyungsoo has to have it! It’s a must!

“Excuse me! Package delivery!”

Kyungsoo runs from the kitchen after turning off the stove and opens the door. The delivery boy smiles widely at him, handing him the package and the signing paper. Kyungsoo writes down his name, thanking the boy before closing the door.

The package comes in a slightly different form, with it containing pillow and all, but Kyungsoo could care less. Makoto is here and he is sure he will have a good night sleep from now on.

He doesn’t even realize that the delivery boy is about to say something when he slams the door in his face.

***

The delivery boy grins, staring at the signed name and sighs dreamily.

“We meet again, Do Kyungsoo.”

It’s the third package for Do Kyungsoo that Jongin has delivered.

Jongin, or Kim Jongin, is the youngest delivery boy working at the local delivery company. He is the delivery man for this household region.

The first meeting with Do Kyungsoo is rather impressing. Jongin knocks on the door and barely able to take a step back when the door is opened and a boy with wide happy smile is greeting him.

The second meeting is when Jongin realizes that it is the boy from the time when he is smiling all wide and weird (but adorable). Jongin feels the smile is contagious and he finds himself always smiling after delivering the package for this Do Kyungsoo boy. (And it also might be the time when Jongin realizes that he has the slight crush on the boy; despite he knows nothing about him.)

On the third meeting, Jongin wants to say something; at least like introducing himself or yadda, whatever, but Do Kyungsoo seems to be over excited with the long package (Jongin frowns, still thinking about what would be his order for it to be packed like that).

Well, maybe he will succeed by the next order.

Or not.

Kyungsoo has bought a few more things when finally he realizes something. Something so trivial yet kind of important.

The delivery boy is always the same person.

He doesn’t realize it at first, but the delivery boy always greets him with a wide smile and he seems to always want to say something, well, before Kyungsoo closes the door on his nose, of course.

The boy always shouts with a bright tone, saying ‘package delivery for Do Kyungsoo!’ and then he is smiling widely. Kyungsoo should have paid more attention to it though; he is the delivery boy who has delivered such precious things for Kyungsoo.

He orders SHINee’s View album and waits in front of the window. He would want to say something to the boy. Well, maybe thanks?

Kyungsoo watches the arrival of the delivery boy. He pushes the front gate open and stops by the door, taking a deep breath before lifting his hand to knock. Well, he is about to, before Kyungsoo opens the door and surprises him.

“U-Uh,”

“I… happen to see you from the window, so, yeah,” Kyungsoo mutters, feeling silly all of sudden for reacting too quick.

The delivery boy nods and hands him the box, along with the paper and Kyungsoo signs on it slowly. He hands the paper back to him and blinks. The delivery boy seems to be surprised by his stop and he sends him a polite smile.

“You… are not going to close the door?” He asks. Kyungsoo winces. The both of them are quite idiot.

“I do realize that my packages are delivered by the same person and it’s you.”

The delivery boy yelps and nods, “Yes, I happen to be responsible for the region here. Um, yeah, that’s why.”

Kyungsoo stares deeply into the delivery boy’s eyes and he stays still for quite a long time. The delivery boy seems to be a bit uncomfortable with his intense gaze before he waves his palm in front of Kyungsoo’s eyes.

“Um, hello?”

Kyungsoo breaks out of his trance and he shakes his head. “I’m fine. But,”

It takes the delivery boy’s interest that the boy seems to want to talk about something else with him. “Yes?”

“Has someone told you that you look like SHINee’s Taemin?” Kyungsoo asks, internally slapping himself for being so silly towards a stranger. The delivery boy blinks his eyes before he smiles and Kyungsoo feels blinded from the pearly white teeth.

“Yeah, I heard that a lot,” the delivery boy grins shyly, rubbing the back of his neck before continuing, “Taemin doesn’t seem to mind though about us looked alike.” He murmurs the last part.

Kyungsoo blinks his huge eyes. ‘Taemin’ he said. He says it so casually.

“Taemin?”

The delivery boy yelps in surprise and he hisses lowly, most likely towards himself, before adding, “Um, Taemin happens to be a good friend of mine.”

Cue the shining in Kyungsoo’s round eyes. This must be a jackpot!

“Are we still talking about the same Taemin here?” He asks carefully. The delivery boy gulps down his saliva (Kyungsoo notes that he is nervous) before reluctantly nodding his head.

Kyungsoo gasps. Then the delivery boy gasps as well when Kyungsoo grabs his palm, holding it up.

“You have to know that I’m a big fan of SHINee’s maknae Lee Taemin!!! I’m his fanboy!”

The delivery boy blinks and gives him an awkward smile. “Uh, sure?”

Kyungsoo watches the angels singing behind the delivery boy, as if telling him that the delivery boy is brought here to him (partly true).

“What’s your name?” Kyungsoo asks (a bit too excited) and the delivery boy seems taken aback at the sudden unexpected question. He shyly grins and scratches his cheek with his index finger of his free hand (the other one is still in Kyungsoo’s grasp, mind you) before muttering, “I’m J-Jongin.”

“Jongin! I’m Kyungsoo, you have to remember it, okay? Are you working everyday?” Kyungsoo asks (excitedly now), shaking Jongin’s pure hand back and forth. Jongin grins at his cuteness (but don’t tell him that) before shaking his head, “I’m free on Saturday and Sunday.”

“Saturday... it’s tomorrow! Please do come here and we can hang out as friends!”

It must be a dream for Jongin to be invited to hang out together by his crush (as friends) in his house.

Being too excited himself, Jongin finds himself nodding his head and soon bides goodbye to his new friend. As he is making his way back to his motorcyle and hears the sound of the closed door behind him, Jongin finds himself grimacing and teary in his eyes.

His crush invites him and he may or may not just embarrass himself in front of his crush (potential boyfriend) by acting silly. Jongin just hopes he won’t do anything weird tomorrow.

***

Kyungsoo opens the door with wide smile on the next day, greeting Jongin who is out of his delivery boy uniform and clad in simple t-shirt and jeans, hand holding a bucket of chickens.

He doesn’t know what he is doing by inviting the other boy (a stranger in this case) to be his friend and hangs out in his house. For all he knows, Jongin could be a serial killer, hidden by a usual job but murdering people in their sleep at night.

But when he hears that Jongin is friend with his idol Taemin, Kyungsoo just knows that he has to grab the boy into his ‘territory’ and makes him ‘his’. Hey, if Jongin knew Taemin, then he has someone to fanboying with, right? Jongin might be the best candidate for that.

They hang out on the couch in the living room, chatting, trying to know each other well before digging into more private information. They have finished half of the bucket and drinks down the second round of soda when Kyungsoo announces to take Jongin into his room.

Well, friends show their room, don’t they?

Just hope Jongin won’t be freaked out to find how freak he is.

“Woah,” Jongin gasps in surprise when Kyungsoo tells him to step in. He glances around the walls of the room, feeling amazed that various animes posters are lined up nicely. Not only animes, but also SHINee posters are plastered all over the room.

“Sorry it’s a bit, uh, messy,” Kyungsoo kicks away a CD case under his bed and sits down on his bed, patting the spot beside him for Jongin to take.

“You are really a SHINee’s fans indeed.” Jongin breathes out in admiration, eyes glancing at one poster to another. Kyungsoo grabs his pillow and hums shyly. Uh, this is the first time his friend ever enters his room.

“Ha! It’s funny to see Taemin in that poster! I’m going to tease him about it!” Jongin exclaims, pulling out his phone and snaps a picture of a half-nude Taemin from the Sherlock era, all with that long hair of his.

Kyungsoo giggles (fuck, he does not giggle) as he watches Jongin’s excited face. “Don’t you like SHINee? With your friend in there and all?” He questions out of curiosity. Jongin nods, “Yeah, I like SHINee, but not really to that hardcore,” he laughs, “I mean, I enjoy their musics.”

He types a quick message to his idol friend before showing his phone down into his pocket.

“So, your room is nice.” He comments, fingers twitching from holding them to not slap his own face for his empty comment. Kyungsoo doesn’t seem to be affected with the empty talk though and he grins, hugging his pillow tighter to his chest (wait, is that also anime, Jongin thinks).

“Thanks. You are the first friend here.” He mutters. Jongin chokes on his saliva. Go, he is the first to enter this room, and not just any room, but his crush’s room.

“Um, well, I’m, um, honored?” He grimaces. Kyungsoo stands up, walking to his desk to find his phone.

“Hey, Jongin, mind to give me your number? So that we can talk and chat and call?”

“Y-Yeah, sure!” Jongin fumbles around with his own phone, forgetting the pass lock when Kyungsoo asks for his.

After exchanging their phone back, Kyungsoo creeps into his personal space, taking Jongin in surprise (because, God, Kyungsoo is breathing on his face). “What do you name me in your phone?”

Jongin winces, not seeing this question coming. He shows the contact to Kyungsoo and it makes the other laughs. “Seriously, Jongin? ‘Cutie Kyungsoo’?”

“I don’t know, okay? What about you?” He demands. The light blush on Kyungsoo’s cheek is worth it, oh.

Snorting in amusement, Jongin replies him. “Seriously, Kyungsoo? ‘Kim-Taemin-Jongin’?”

Kyungsoo grits his teeth and is about to snap when he catches the sight of Jongin laughing; the poster of Aomine Daiki is plastered behind his head.

Wait. Jongin looks a bit like Aomine. He is tan and he is tall. He is cute and attractive.

Holding onto his nose to check whether he is having a nosebleed, Kyungsoo sighs in relief.

God. Jongin is like a very rare sight in his life.

***

They talk through phone calls when Jongin is having a lunch break and Kyungsoo is throwing garbage from his mom’s small bakery a block from his house. They chat about all things, almost everything, yet never have they lost of topic to talk about.

Hanging around with Jongin is also nice and entertaining.

Kyungsoo finds out Jongin also dances and he demands Jongin to show it to him on the other day. Jongin reluctantly and shyly shows his dancing in Kyungsoo’s living room, with his body does this snap and circle and those swift moves (Kyungsoo is not sure whether he is a Taemin’s fanboy or Jongin’s fanboy now).

Jongin has tried Kyungsoo’s kimchi spaghetti on the third weekend they hang out and he is addicted to that dish. Kyungsoo laughs at his face when Jongin almost cries from the taste.

They still talk when Jongin is delivering his order of Girls’ Generation’s Party single. Kyungsoo shoves a lunch box into Jongin’s hand before he could go and he smiles at the way Jongin grins fondly at him.

Though the feeling is forgotten the moment he opens the Girls’ Generation poster and begins to think where to plaster it. His wall is barely having any empty space now, muttering: I’m sorry, Taeyeon noona, I will have to take down the Mr.Mr. poster!

On the next delivery of Super Junior’s Devil album, Kyungsoo yelps when his fingers brush against Jongin’s knuckles and the action results on them flustered on the doorway for about ten minutes, all spluttered and red face before Jongin breaks the thing by realizing that he has to deliver other things. Kyungsoo nods and shyly waves his hand at his Makoto. He realizes that the way Jongin smiles, warm and cozy and friendly, is like his Makoto.

The weird feelings are appearing after their four hang outs, with the dinner out at the okonomiyaki place, and the theater date (Kyungsoo insists it’s not a date, but whatever), and stolen glances whenever one thinks the other one is not looking.

Kyungsoo has long forgotten on his reason of befriending Jongin to fanboy over Taemin.

Kyungsoo waits patiently (impatiently, to be honest) at Jongin’s arrival, bringing his latest order of TVXQ’s new Rise as God album.

He feels silly sometimes. Ordering things just to meet Jongin regularly. Well, he indeed likes the things he is ordering so it’s not really that unimportant, but still.

Jongin knocks on the door, calling his name in amusement. He skips along the stairs hurriedly, stumbling over his own ankle before opening the door breathlessly. Jongin is smiling there, greeting him with that lopsided grin on his handsome face.

“What are you doing? Stumbling over nothing again?” He teases. Kyungsoo rolls his eyes, pouting. “I’m not, excuse you.”

Jongin laughs, handing him the box and Kyungsoo grabs the pen from Jongin’s chest pocket to sign the paper down. He knows he should have run upstairs and opens the album, but here he is, standing on the doorway while staring intensely at Jongin’s face.

“What? Is there something on my face?” Jongin questions, palming his own cheek. Kyungsoo shakes his head no, before opening the empty talk about how’s your day and so on, how many orders left to be delivered, yadda yadda.

“Hey, Jongin?” Kyungsoo calls when Jongin has put on his helmet and starts his motorcycle’s engine.

“Yeah?”

Kyungsoo parts his mouth to speak but he stops himself. He shakes his head, canceling whatever the plan he has in his mind.

“Nothing. I will text you later, okay?”

“Yeah, sure. I’m going!” Jongin smiles at him before driving away. Kyungsoo watches him getting further before slumping against the door, sighing in defeat.

“Man, I’m scared...”

It takes Kyungsoo a few weeks to realize what he is feeling and when he has the chance to tell Jongin about it, he chickens out. Maybe telling it directly is not his style.

Grabbing his phone, Kyungsoo types a message for Jongin but stops his thumb when it hovers over the ‘send’ button. He is not sure about this.

It’s on the next week when Kyungsoo dares himself to send the message.

Jongin lies down on his bed after a long day of work. His phone beeps on the night stand and he grins when he sees a text from Kyungsoo,

Only to drop the smile when he realizes the message.

Jongin, I like you so much. More than friends.

***

Kyungsoo wails in his room, ignoring his mom’s knocking on the door to tell him to shut up and get down you lazy bum. It’s not his working day at the bakery, why should he get out of his safety zone?

Jongin has not replied to his message or even contact him. He is scared like hell on what Jongin is thinking and this is not what he thinks will happen after he sends Jongin that text. He is quite sure that Jongin feels the same way, but now with the lack of response, Kyungsoo is not really sure anymore.

His mom calls his name, telling him that she is going out to the bakery and don’t forget to wash the dishes in the sink. Kyungsoo groans in annoyance and he rubs his face against the crumpled sheet of his bed, feeling so devastated and down. He should have not done that, Jongin hates him now and he loses one good friend.

Groaning, Kyungsoo tells himself a few profanities, scolding his brain for not thinking any further before taking an action.

He has tried calling and texting Jongin a few times, but to no avail they are ignored by him. Jongin is not someone to ignore you and when he is, and then it means he is angry. Or disgusted.

“Oh my God!” Kyungsoo groans, grabbing his hair while banging his head on his bed repeatedly. This is so not happening.

Kyungsoo is sprawled on his couch, munching on the potato chips because the anime says eat when you are depressed. The door is knocked and with a weak response, he saunters towards the door.

“Excuse me, package delivery.”

He jolts up in surprise at the familiar words, opening the door too excited, only to feel the excitement goes down when an older man with mustache and a cap is the one standing on his doorway.

“Package for Do Kyungsoo.”

Muttering confusion, he signs down his name on the paper before getting a not so knowing grin from the older man.

It’s thin; the package. And as far as Kyungsoo remembers, he is not ordering anything for a while (he lacks of money for the constant buying from before).

He cuts the cover paper and is greeted with a small box. Kyungsoo lift its cover only to find a folded paper in it. It’s weird.

The paper is pink and simple and it contains: I like you, too.

Could it be the delivery company is mistaking him with the order? I mean—

The door is knocker again and it’s another “Excuse me, package delivery!”

“What...?”

It’s a bouquet of flowers.

It happens for three more times with colorful balloons, a big teddy bear, and a huge box of expensive chocolate; and later, Kyungsoo finds all the things on top of the kitchen table, with him staring at them in confusion.

What is going on here?

Knock knock.

“Excuse me, package delivery.”

With a groan, Kyungsoo begins to mutter profanities towards the delivery company, because this is seriously annoying and he does not wish to see mistakes of orders repeatedly into his house.

The delivery man is wearing a cap and it covers almost the entire of his face. Kyungsoo taps his foot impatiently as the man is pulling out an envelope from his bag, and that’s when Kyungsoo is losing his patience.

“Look, I got a few packages and I think the company is making mistakes with delivering them here, because I’m not ordering anything yet and—do you listen to me, Sir?” Kyungsoo growls in annoyance.

The man ignores him, unfolding a big paper and holding it up in front of his face.

Kyungsoo squints his eyes as he reads the words scribbled down on the white surface of the paper, saying:

BE MY BOYFRIEND?

“Wha—”

“Will you?” Jongin peeks from behind the paper, all shy and smiling. Kyungsoo gapes in surprise and begins to open and close his mouth like a fish.

“What- but how- why- I mean, it’s- Jongin?!”

“Surprise?” The other smiles at his surprised face. Kyungsoo ignores the way his heart is beating out of control and he gulps the saliva down his dry throat.

“What’s the meaning of this?” He shakily asks. Jongin grins and rubs the back of his neck.

“Well, you told me that like me and I’m thinking about a few ways to answer you so... here I am.”

Kyungsoo pushes him on his shoulder, face red and lips quivering. “How could you? I thought you hate me!”

“Why would I hate you? Isn’t it obvious that I like you too?” Jongin questions him. Kyungsoo huffs in disbelief; so all the groaning and depressed sounds are for nothing.

“So? You haven’t answered my question?” Jongin grins stupidly, leaning down to see his face.

With a simple nod from Kyungsoo, he dances on his spot and hears the various ‘congrats’ from every corner. Huh?

Kyungsoo finds the five delivery men are congratulating Jongin.

“What?”

“I asked for their help and they were the ones delivering you things just now, so—”

“Alright, alright, I get it. Can you please tell them to go? This is so embarrassing!” Kyungsoo mutters with red face, hearing the unison of ‘ouww’ from the uncles. Jongin chuckles and shoos them away with a loud ‘thanks!’

“So.”

“So.” Kyungsoo mumbles softly, still feeling weird to be confessed by someone in front of uncles.

“You are my boyfriend.”

“Um, yeah.”

Jongin grins and leans forward to kiss his cheek and Kyungsoo yelps like those girls in the animes.

“Do you want to get in?” He offers Jongin with red face. His boyfriend grins and nods. “With pleasure.”

They get in and Kyungsoo gets to cuddle with his boyfriend-slash-Taemin’s-friend-slash-‘Aomine’-Jongin-slash-‘Makoto’-Jongin-slash-his-delivery-boy.

Kyungsoo won’t believe it that he just gets a delivery boy as his boyfriend, who is handsome and attractive and friendly and who has delivered his feelings to him without any disturbance and safely into his heart.
