Summary: Jinki and Jonghyun got hurt because of him. Minho and Taemin left because of him. What was the use of living for Kibum? There was nothing left to him. Or that was what he used to think until four people that he loved the most were coming back. This was a story of broken friendship between five young boys who tried to mend the bond once again.

“Are we friends now, Jinki hyung?”

“Yeah, of course! We are friends, Kibum!”

“Jinki hyung is my hyung! And I’m Taeminnie’s hyung as well!”

“Would you like to be my friend as well, Minho-goon?”

“You are also cute, Jonghyun hyung!”

No one knew what would happen 15 years later.

Prologue: Emptiness




A metallic blue car stopped in front of a vile, dirty four levels building; the sound of the engine got killed down was roaring in the silent place. Two men got down the car, their shiny, expensive sneakers made contact with the dusty cement ground. The taller and also the older of the two locked the car and sighed, looking around the grey building.

“Should we get upstairs? The fourth floor, right?” asked he with his low voice, getting a slight nod from the slightly shorter man beside him.

With hesitant steps, they made their way upstairs, climbing up the rotten cement stairs. The younger of the two stole glances at the older male, trying to find any sign of comfort since he was practically nervous like hell at the moment.

The door they were standing in front of was so rotten, so dusty; it was like no one would like to stay at this place. And it made the younger male to hesitate more than before.

“Hyung, are you sure that he still lives here? I mean—it’s been a few years. I don’t think—”

“Taemin, we have to try. The information said that he is still staying here, so why don’t we try?”

“...right.”

They knocked onto the once familiar door, waiting for it to be opened with fast-beating heart. It was now or never. It was finally the time they would meet their long lost friend after a few years of losing contact.

The atmosphere around them was so thick as the time gone by without any movement or voice from behind the still-closed door. “Minho hyung, I think no one’s here—”

The soft creak from the door being opened pulled their attention back forward. They anticipated various expressions from their long friend; mad, angry, happy, crying, sad, overjoyed.

But not this one.

He was not their friend.

They saw their best friend, Kim Kibum, with a pair of blank, empty eyes staring back at them.

“Who...?” murmured the voice that was once happy, that used to ring around them, angrily nagged at them to clean their messy bags, that used to laugh from their tickling torture on his slender waist.

The light was gone. Nothing left in his once so alive eyes.

“K-Kibum hyung?”

“Who are you?”

No word could describe the way Taemin felt towards this new Kibum. He was so lifeless, so empty. There was no that lively Kibum, no more that Kibum that shouted when someone touched his hair. His hair was mess, Taemin felt like puking at the unfamiliar sight of his hyung.

Minho held back his breath. This was not Kibum that he used to argue with. Kibum was so noisy; he didn’t know when to shut up. But this Kibum... He was different. There was no more stylish Kibum.

“Oh, you.” Murmured Kibum breathlessly and it managed to stop them from breathing too loud.

“I don’t need your pity. Go away.”

The door closed softly in front of their face, no more words exchanged between them. Fists gripped tightly, heart clenching in pain, eyes closed from the unshed tears.

Kim Kibum was changed and they knew it was because of their fault. The four of them.

Woah the prologue is very interesting and it sounds really good and im sure its going to best like your other fics.
